Sound issue with iPad

My wife's iPad sound is not working on Face Time - she cannot hear the other party and the other party cannot hear her. When I call my wife on her iPad from mine she can hear me but I cannot hear her. I have checked the places in Settings that seem to relate to no avail. Her audio works fine with Zoom. What is the issue?
