Crochet counts as steps

has anyone figured out a way to stop the apple watch counting steps while I set and crochet?

There is an accelerator in the Apple Watch. It counts steps by noticing arm swings most people do when walking. It does not actually know you are walking.

What you are doing with crocheting is accelerating/decelerating the Apple Watch, so it thinks your arm is moving due to walking.

I personally like to Juggle to get my stand credit each hour 😀
