I can't get my new Air trackpad to let me drag and drop anything. Can't move icons into Dock. Can't move a file into a subfolder. WTH?

Is it me or the trackpad on my new Air? can't drag and drop ANYTHING. Click on a file it jumps to a preview of the doc. Click hold on a file, same thing, click drag it selects multiple files.

Turn off the Haptic Force Feedback option in the Trackpad System Preferences (the bottom option on the first tab of the Trackpad settings). It takes lots of practice to be able to get just the right amount of pressure to activate the drag & drop feature. I've never been able to master it so I just disable the Haptic force feedback feature.

You're welcome. It drove me crazy as well until I discovered the new setting which caused all the problems. Apple really needs to provide a training area so it can help users "train" themselves on how to perform normal functions like drag & drop with the Haptic Force Feedback enabled. I've tried to practice and I've gotten better at being able to drag & drop, but it is just too much hassle for me since it is way to sensitive and it seems to matter the position of the cursor when you initiate the drag & drop.

macOS should warn users about the new feature and how it can affect normal trackpad use or at the very least allow us to change the sensitivity of the feature. I hate when new features interfere with such a common operation that has been standard for years without any warning about the change in behavior.
