IPad keyboard doesńt type correctly

When typing the ät sign, I get quotation marks. Other symbols type incorrectly as well.

HELP!

Are you talking about a hardware keyboard?

If so, go to settings > general > keyboard > hardware keyboard and tap over at the right edge. If you want @ to be at Shift 2, make sure it is set to "US" and NOT "automatic" or something else.
