iPad Pro onscreen keyboard not working properly

Why is the issue with the keyboard that does not display the proper characters when the shift key is pressed not being fixed? This is supposed to be a device to use as a replacement for other devices and work, but this one flaw makes it awful to use. And this problem is one that existed for more than a few years now. C'mon Apple!

Greetings, cffrompretoria.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. We can understand why you’d want correct characters to appear.

First, restart your iPad: Restart your iPad

Then, make sure your iPadOS is up-to-date: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Finally, ensure that you are using the iOS keyboard, rather than a 3rd party keyboard: Add or change keyboards on iPhone

We hope this helps! Thanks for being a part of the community.

Sincerely.
