ghost touch iphone XS

My Iphone XS has started having the ghost touch issue. I saw it had been recognized that the Iphone X has the same issue..

'iPhone X displays may experience touch issues due to a component that might fail on the display module. An affected device may exhibit the following:

• The display, or part of the display, does not respond or responds intermittently to touch
• The display reacts even though it was not touched

Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider will replace the display module on eligible devices, free of charge.

No other iPhone models are part of this program.'

when i contacted about my issue i was told i would need to send it off to be serviced and that it would cost £449.17!!!

this problem obviously occurs on devices other than just the Iphone X so why are they not inluded in the program?!
