How do I verify payment method?

I am trying to purchase a song from ITunes, which I have done many times. This time it tells me that I have to verify my payment method. I follow the prompts as instructed. I go to settings, iTunes & App Store, tap on my Apple ID, view Apple ID, manage payments, the screen then shows a picture of the card that I use. When I click on that I get the picture and the last four of the device account number. There is nothing on this screen that will allow me to verify anything. The only thing that I can click is "Remove". I try that and it says that I can't remove the only payment method since I am on the family sharing plan. What am I missing? How am I supposed to verify the card? GRRRRRR I feel like it's right there and I am missing it. PLEASE HELP.

Or you can click the blue Edit payment methods in the article below. When signed in and the page loads, you will be on the credit card page. After updating that, click the Go Back button at the lower left and you will be on the address page.


Apple ID payment information - change.
