Can I use the 2nd Gen apple pencil on my iPhone 7 Plus?

No. iPads only.


You can use Apple Pencil (2nd generation) with these iPad models: 

  • iPad Pro 12.9-inch (3rd generation) and later
  • iPad Pro 11-inch (1st generation) and later

No nor can you use the mark 1 pencil either.


The way the pencils are paired to iPads are proprietary


Mark one uses the Lightning port whilst mark 2 requires the magnetic charging port on later iPad Pro models.


None of the current iPhones iOS devices have the necessary drivers activated to allow the mark 1 to pair .


So you are out of luck.


You can use simple rubber tipped stylus (Cheap no need to pair but less than accurate and useless for drawing) these mimic the number one finger input .


Or a Bluetooth device like the Adonit range of pens
