iPhone starts playing random music

I have an iPhone XS Max and at different random times it will start playing random music that I don’t even own. I cannot even tell where the music is coming from as I close every app yet the music keeps on playing, it doesn’t even show up in my control center music widget as it shows nothing is playing. It sounds like a radio broadcast or something as sometimes I can hear a radio voice too. I always have to turn off my phone for it to stop, but I want it to just stop happening. Can anybody help?

Hi andyjarrin,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

From your post, it appears that your iPhone is playing music when all music apps are closed. A restart resolves the issue for a while. We want to help. Is your iPhone updated? If not, that would be a great first step. It’s a good idea to backup your iPhone before updating.

Here’s How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support.

Here’s how to Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support.

After you have updated, check to see if any apps that play music need updating. Check to see if updating resolves the issue.

Hope that helps.

Best Regards!
