Copy and pasting on iphone XR

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

It sounds like you'd like to copy a website URL to a text message or email.

The easiest way to to do it from within Safari. While you are on the site, tap the Share button (blue rectangle with arrow pointing up) and choose the Messages or Email app on the second line. (Or, you may see your contact in the list of recent contacts in the first row.)

This will open the app with the URL link included. Then you can add your comments and send the message.

If you already have a message started, then you can switch to Safari, tap on the URL in the Address field at the top of the page and choose "Select All." Tap again to Copy. Then go back to your message and tap in a blank line and choose Paste.
