Do I have any viruses on my phone?

So when I went to a website in safari to watch some videos. After I finished one video and clicked on another one it lead me to another page that was the same. When I went back to the other page it said a hacker was tracking me and I had to download this VPN app in order to stop the viruses from going on my phone. I don’t know if it worked and I don’t know if I still have the viruses. It said I had to keep the vpn app or else the viruses will come back. I don’t know if it could be a scam because I know Apple phones are very secure. I don’t know what to do and I’m kinda paranoid.

It's a scam. Ones like those work by misleading people instead of installing malware directly, so they can't easily be protected against in software.
