How to change back up device from computer to an external hard drive
My computer storage is full during iPhone backups and can't be updated, how can I back the phone up to an external hard drive in lieu of my computer?

I don't think you can.. someone else can chime in if they know otherwise. I believe in order to get a backup onto an external drive you'd need to get thru the backup on the computer, then manually copy that backup to the external drive.
Otherwise you can back the phone up to the cloud, but you'd have to buy storage
