iCloud Shared Album

Hi,

Over the years, we've created many iCloud shared albums to share photos and videos within the family. These are mostly photos of kids, which are somewhere between 50k-100k items.

I would like to download these photos/videos into my Windows desktop. I installed iCloud for Windows and enabled "Shared Albums" in the settings. This allowed iCloud download the shared albums into my computer but the sync/download process stopped after a few days and it's now been weeks and not a single file has been downloaded.

I assume this is a iCloud sync issue. Does anyone have any solutions? I've re-installed iCloud and it still doesn't work.

When you import large numbers of photos to either iPhoto or Aperture, you could potentially reach any of the limits listed above if you selected Automatic Upload in My Photo Stream preferences. Both iPhoto and Aperture will pause uploading to My Photo Stream when they reach the maximum. Uploading will automatically restart at the next hour, day, or month, depending on which limit was reached.
If you enabled iCloud Photos on your iOS 8.3 device or on OS X Yosemite v10.10.3, My Photo Stream will upload your most recent photos to share with devices not using iCloud Photos. My Photo Stream photos will be automatically added to your All Photos album for devices with iCloud Photos enabled.

Initially it took a couple of days to download approx 27gb of data. It's been sitting there (ie no additional download) for a few weeks now with zero change. So I don't think it's a network issue.

Also, I forgot to mention in the original post, the "iCloud Shared Album" app also keeps crashing in Windows.

Seeing as the library you're wishing to download or sync is rather large, and depending on your ISP and download speeds, it may take a while for this to complete.
