hey I got a new Mac awhile ago and had Final Cut Pro preinstalled with it but not soon after I got that Mac I had to get a new one because I smashed the screen, how do I get Final Cut Pro on the one I currently have without paying full price again?

My father paid for the Mac that had final cut on it so would that mean id have to use his Apple ID to be able to redownload it ?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

Probably. Unless you went into the App Store when you first got it and confirmed it with your Apple ID. You might try contacting App Store support.
