does my AppleCare+ For MacBook 3 yr plan replace stolen laptops

For my nephew for his birthday a few months ago. I never even set it up as it was to be a gift for my nephew this weekend - I purchased it during the sales around Memorial Day weekend. I just noticed that it was missing and I know who has stolen it. I am making a police report in the morning. My question is this: I purchased the extra AppleCare+ 3 yrs plan for it, I have all the original proof of purchases receipts downloaded from my Best Buy account that shows I was the purchaser, of both the laptop and the AppleCare+ 3 yr - What I am wondering is this- The person / people who stole it has left state and I even given all my proof of ownership I am not too hopeful that even if they are able to recover the lap top and get I it back, I fully expect that it has been used and due to it being reported stolen - I doubt that it will be brand new. Will I be covered and quality to get a new replacement?
