Apple Trade In and paint chipping

I have an IPhone 8+ gold for around a year and half, the gold paint layer on the sides chipped, even though I always use a silicone case wipe it clean every week.

the screen and the back are free of scratches, the camera is in perfect condition, all the buttons work, and have no issues with the battery.

Can I get credit for it with Apple Trade In? Or they will only recycle my IPhone?

I don’t know if chipped paint counts as scratches in the online evaluation.
