A2159 Macbook pro storade upgrade

Greetings to all;

I bought on December 2019 a 13" Macbook pro with 128GB of storage. The main purpose of my machine is for coding in Xcode. Is there an actual upgrade to the storage? All I have seen is that the hard drive is soldered to the logic board. If the answere is no, there is an external hard drive that works fast enough with Xcode? My experienced with the usb drive is that runs slow. I will really appreciate any help with this matter.
