Hi there, advikdhanraj!

We see from your post that you're prompted to sign into the iTunes Store with your Apple ID when attempting to update apps, but are only given the option to enter a password in the notification box. We're happy to help!

A likely reason this is occurring is because the app was downloaded with a specific Apple ID that is not currently signed in on the device. In that instance, the password this notification is asking for is the one associated with the Apple ID used to originally download the app you want to update. Regardless of whether you sign in on this notification or in Settings, in order to update an app you must do so with the Apple ID used to download it.

If you are unsure what Apple ID was used to originally download the app, you will need to delete it: How to delete apps on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support, make sure you are signed into the iTunes and App Stores with your current Apple ID: Sign in with your Apple ID - Apple Support, and then locate the app in the App Store and download it again: Download apps and games from the App Store - Apple Support. If it is a paid app, you will need to purchase the app again.
