How do I subscribe to apple emails? When I check the 3 boxes for email newsletters, they uncheck themselves.

On my Mac I've tried navigating to Settings > Apple ID > Name, Phone, Email and checking the 3 boxes 'Announcements', 'Apps, music TV and more' and 'Apple News newsletter'.

But when I close Settings and go back in, the boxes are unchecked and no matter how long I wait, I don't receive apple emails.

I've tried the same from my iPhone, iPad and from the applid.apple.com website. In all cases, I can check the 3 boxes to subscribe to official apple emails but when I close and re-open or refresh the page, the boxes are unchecked again.

Is there a fix for this?

I'm using the latest versions of iOS and Mac OS Catalina. I'm using Safari to access appleid.apple.com
