How to remove special sections from news or parental control content?

I am trying Apple news+ and they have some kids magazines so I set up an account for my kids to use but I am not able to limit the content in the app on the special sections. I changed the setting so they only see news articles of channels they are following but The special sections (Election, Covid & Racial Justice) won’t go away.

I tried clicking on one of them and blocking the channel yet it still shows up. And after that if I try to block another one it shows it as being blocked already.

In Screen Time/ parental controls the only thing I can find is hiding the news app all together which isn’t too helpful since I want them to be able to look at the magazines.

Any ideas?

I am a lot more than just a voter or a skin color or a gender. It is insulting for Apple to assume I have main stream views that they choose to forcibly and permanently put in front of me. It’s rather insensitive honestly. I have my own sources for BLM (that’s Bureau of Land Management) wild fire information. I don’t need Apple or google feeding me redundant COVID information. So if I want to de-clutter my news app I should be able to do so.
