How to connect two displays to 2012 MacBook pro

I have a 13' 2012 macbook pro and would like to connect two displays. I'm using the thunderbolt 2 as a mini dvi adapter but don't know which port else to use to connect the 2nd display. the usb 2s and firewire seem useless.

best option for second display I have to connect a second display to my Mac Studio max, a 27' Eizo 4K. Connected to my Mac Studio there's an Akitio Thunder3 QuadX which has 2 thunderbolt3 ports and 1 DisplayPort 1.2 for a second display. What's the best option between connecting my 2nd display directly to my Mac Studio and to my Akitio? Is DisplayPort preferable over usb-c for displays? Any input or suggestions would be much appreciated. I don't know much about this topic. Thank you!

Your Mac supports a single external display at a maximum resolution of 2560x1600.
