What is the gray space being used on my iPhone X?

I keep getting the message that my storage is almost at capacity. Even after clearing a few GB's of data and attachments, I still don't know what the 33GB of "used space" is! I've restarted my phone several times; no change. I've cleared conversations in apps like WhatsApp, etc.; no change. Where can I find where that memory is being used??

I'm assuming you mean 'other' space?

This is an issue I see a fair amount on these forums.. It wouldn't be a bad idea to leave feedback here, the more people that complain about it, the more it'll be on Apple's radar

Here is what I have been telling people with 'other' storage issues.

here is a post that explains what 'other' storage is

Note that when you delete photos/videos they go to a 'Recently Deleted' album where they may be classified as 'other'. Try deleting them from there and see if 'other' storage drops.

If you haven't updated to 13.6, wouldn't be a bad idea if you have the storage space available for the update to download.

Otherwise, if a forced restart doesn't clear up some 'other' data

Unfortunately the only other way I've found that works is to backup your phone, reset to factory settings (erases your device), and restore from that backup
