Play/pause no longer work for AirPods Pro

AirPods Pro controls no longer work properly (only options are Siri and Noise control) and I can longer squeeze once for play (pause works fine). Just upgraded phones to 11 pro max. How can I troubleshoot?

iPhone 11 Pro Max, iOS 13
