How to STOP Calendar Automatically Adding Events from Mail - iOS 13.5.1

Hello - My mail/Calendar app keeps automatically adding events to my calendar. As you can imagine, during covid-19, with all of the Zoom/other platform "event" invitations going around, this is becoming VERY annoying. I have googled this A LOT, and everything I see says to go to Settings --> tap on Mail, Contacts, Calendars option --> Scroll down until you reach "Events Found in Mail" and toggle it off.

Well, in iOS 13.5.1 "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" is not an option. Under Settings, I can choose wither Mail OR Calendar OR Contacts. I have clicked on all 3 of those options and I don't see "Events Found in Mail" as an option.

Can someone tell me how I can turn this feature off? Thank you!

Thanks sterling r, unfortunately that did not solve the issue. Whenever I get an email with Zoom meeting info, or Microsoft Teams meeting info, it still gets automatically added to my calendar (and I get a notification on my lock screen). Please let me know if you have any other ideas.

Thanks!

Hello LegallyBlonde2018,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you're wondering how to stop events in the Mail app from showing in the Calendar app on your iPhone. You're in the right place to find a resolution.

There's a few different options to adjust the settings for this behavior. The first of which would be to open the Calendar app, then tap Calendars at the center-bottom of your screen. Scroll down, then deselect the Siri Suggestions calendar:

You can also manage your Siri Suggestions for both the Calendar and Mail app by following the steps here:

Use Siri Shortcuts - Apple Support

"Turn off suggested shortcuts from Search, Look Up, or the Lock screen

If you don’t want to see Siri Suggestions or Shortcuts for a specific app, go to Settings > Siri & Search, then scroll down and tap the app. From here, you can turn off all Search, Suggestions, and Shortcuts for that app. Or turn off Allow on Lock Screen to remove suggestions for that app on the Lock screen.

Go to Settings > Siri & Search, scroll down and turn off Suggestions in Search, Suggestions in Look Up, or Suggestions on Lock Screen."

These settings can also be adjusted by going directly to Settings > Calendar > Siri & Search or Settings > Mail > Siri & Search. Turn off "Show Siri Suggestions in App."

Cheers!
