Apple Card bill payment
So I recently made a payment to my Apple Card on July 17th, the payment was approved and money removed on July 20th. Today, about an hour and a half maybe two hours ago, I received an email that my payment was denied due to a lack of funds from my bank account. I check my bank account to make sure the payment was approved and sure enough it was. A few minutes later, after conveniently starting a chat with a representative, I suddenly received a refund, from the same “WEB APPLECARD GSBANK PAYMENT” that removed the money in the first place, and I tell this to the chat agent and I’m not sure if he continued to misinterpret, but he continued to insist my bank was likely responsible for the error. Now my question is would this really be my banks error? My bank, when making payments like this, will immediately removed the funds from my account (safety measure to make sure I don’t spend it before they can approved them payment),and if I had a lack of funds my bank would’ve denied the payment almost immediately and the Apple Card would have too, but the payment went through and was put in the approved section of my bank statement and the money was definitely withdrawn from my bank account, by the web APPLECARD gsbank payment mind you, and then suddenly the payment gets denied and the refund I receive is from the same web APPLECARD gsbank payment that removed the money. Wouldn’t that mean gsbank withdrew the money and had it if they were able to send it back? So isn’t this obviously an error on their part? Or is it so late and I’m so tired I can’t see where my bank made the error? I’ve quadruple checked all the statements and everything and everything points to gsbank messing up. The chat agent was no help as he kept telling me it was likely my banks error. Should I call instead and ask to speak to a supervisor or something?
