Apple ID/App Store NOT showing Final Cut Pro Past Purchase...

Under my old Apple ID - I purchased Final Cut Pro years ago and have it installed on my older iMac and MacBook Pro. I changed my Apple ID username/e-mail address in 2017. When I log into the App Store with my Apple ID on my new MacBook Pro...its not showing that I purchased Final Cut Pro so I can't download my purchase onto my new laptop.


I don't know what to do. I have an apple e-mail confirming I purchased it years ago.


Help??

This might be your basic problem. See What to do when the Mac App Store shows a different Apple ID for software updates https://www.macworld.com/article/3267709/mac-app-store-apple-id.html. This document refers to a prior owner (use the discussion in it this is your situation), but is also applies to cases where a current owner's old Apple ID is the problem. The discussion below relates to the second possibility. 

 

Basically, If an app is purchased/downloaded using one Apple ID, then you can't update it with a second Apple ID. The app is inextricably linked to the first Apple ID. You'll have to delete if from the first Apple ID and purchase/download it again with the second Apple ID unless you set up family sharing (see below).

 

You can set up family sharing between the IDs to share purchases made with them. See:

Check your current ID purchases history. If the application doesn't show there, you must have created a new Apple ID, and you won't be able to download the application without purchasing it again.


If the application does show in your purchases history, contact iTunes Support for assistance.
