Adding Gmail account to Mail

I recently created a new Gmail to add to my mail on my iPhone. I tapped on 'Add Account" then selected "Google". Then an error message popped up saying it couldn't be opened because too many redirects occurred. I spend it in safari but it said the same thing.

Any ideas on how to fix this? I tried to add it manually but can't figure it out.
