Change display to HD 1920 x 1080 for screen recordings

I just received a new MacBook Pro 16" and need to change the display resolution to HD for screen recordings. I cannot find the settings panel to set the display to 1920 x 1080.

MacBook Pro with Cinema Display I've been using my old MacBook Pro with an Apple Cinema Display (through an adapter). It worked fine, giving the Cinema Display a default resolution of 2500x1600. This summer I bought a new MacBook Pro and adapters to connect to the Cinema Display. I works ok, but using any of the methods to adjust the resolution of the Cinema Display does not give me the option of a 2500x1600 resolution. Even the Option-Click method for setting resolution. The highest it will give is 1280x800, which looks awful. How can I get the 2500x1600 resolution for the Cinema Display with my new MacBook Pro?

Screen resolution settings Dear All, I have a doubt about the screen resolution settings. I have connected the new Mac mini to a 4K TV (HDMI) and I have adjusted the resolution in order to comfortably operate the computer and read all text from the couch. Unfortunately this new version of OS X doesn't have the traditional list of available resolutions so I cannot say if the setting I have chosen is 1920x1080 or anything else. I have tried to set the max resolution which I believe is 4K but all become too small and it's impossible to read anything, so my question is: Since I have set the computer resolution lower than 4K if I play a 4K movie file on VLC am I watching the movie with the original file resolution or lower?? In macOS 13 (Ventura), how do you select a specific screen resolution now? The Displays settings panel was redesigned to show "Larger Text" to "More Space" options in a previous macOS release but you could still hold down the option key, select "Scaled Resolutions" (or whatever it was labelled) and get to see and select from available resolutions (1920x1080, etc.) I don't see how to do that now with Ventura macOS 13. And it's a problem because the provided options ("larger text" to "more space") don't let you get to the native resolution for some displays, like mine: an LG ultrawide display whose native resolution is 3840x1600. So how do I select that resolution now with Ventura (or any other specific resolution)?

The default resolutions are 3072 by 1920 pixels (Retina); scaled resolutions: 2048 by 1280, 1792 by 1120, 1344 by 840, and 1152 by 720 pixels. I don't know if it will work but you could try the trial of SwitchResX.

Thanks, SwitchResX does work with Catalina. I hoped there was a free alternative to simple but useful RDM. But €14 is ok for all that it does, also when multiple external monitors are connected.
