MacBook Air screen partially black

My daughter's MacBook air's screen has just started randomly going partially black. (see top right on screen in photo) Like a sixth. How do we fix this? Thank you.

In that case, your display is damaged. You can either replace the LED panel or the entire display assembly.
Thanks. I tried the above. The only change was when pressing the top right of the screen some lines appeared.
If the screen suddenly started displaying the artifacts, then there could be an issue with the GPU. When a computer gets too hot, the solder joints connecting the GPU to the logic board start to fail. Try applying mild pressure on the bottom case of your MacBook and see if the artifacts change shape/form. Also, try applying very mild pressure on the display. If the artifacts change when touching the display, then your display panel is physically damaged.
