AirPods 2nd generation volume / sound is extremely low
My AirPods volume is extremely low. The sound is only at normal level if they are in my ear horizontally. I have cleaned them, resynched to devices, and still volume is low.

It sounds like you are having an issue where your Airpods volume is very low. Typically this is a sign of debris in the main speaker, check out this link for support with cleaning your Airpods: How to clean your AirPods and EarPods. If there's nothing showing on the speaker mesh, continue with the steps below:
First, Reset your AirPods.
Next, verify that you have the L and R AirPods correctly identified. You can see where to look for the indicators in the photos under the "Look on your AirPods" section: Identify your AirPods - Apple Support
Lastly, take a look at the Quick Start Guide located under "Resources" at the bottom of this page to see how they should be sitting when placed in your ear. AirPods Support - Official Apple Support
