MacBook Air Microphone not working

I currently using a MacBook Air (11-inch ,Mid 2013)

my MacBook Air Microphone is not working, may you please help to set it up.

on my face time ,Zoom,Microsoft teams and teamViewer ,even the dictation and Siri.

Interestingly took it to Apple, they suggested a new microphone fo $600. Reset everything including SMC etc. Finally I stuck an actual 3.5mm headphone in the jack. Not really sure it was related to that. Started working again. Now two weeks later it is out again. I really think it is a hardware thing...anyone else have any ideas? thanks Nick

Microphone on MacBook Air M1 not working Hello, I have noticed that my microphone is not working, I have tried to use Siri and message comes up saying "Siri Audio Problem". I also tried FaceTime and person on other end could not hear anything. When I restarted the pc, it seemed to work but later stops. I do not have any 3rd party applications installed. Regards

mac microphone not working right Hi, I hope someone can help, I have tried everything I could find online! My MacBook is 2017 , recently updated. The microphone stopped working in the middle of a zoom meeting. It no longer works on zoom, voice memo recorder settings. Yet It works perfectly for Siri, dictation online microphone checker. I have done all the stuff that has been recommended. Updated, restarted, pram, checked that all the relevant settings are ticked. I am at a loss now and have no idea what is wrong. It would be easier to understand if it wasn't working at all, but it does. Siri can answer anything but tells me he can hear me ok when I ask him! ZOOM is important and it is getting embarrassing. Ny help would be very much appreciated.
