Hard to say what to try next, or what you've attempted so far.
Should you have instructions on setup for the wireless mouse
you could try them again, to see if those help. I made a search
to see what I could find, because you never mentioned Brand.
So now I can see that the product is LogiTech. ~ Here's manual
in PDF that may offer advice; while I hadn't any idea which one.
• Getting started with Logitech® Wireless Mouse M325 - quick-start guide
If Mouse is not working:
2. Is the Unifying receiver securely plugged into a computer USB port? Try changing USB ports.
3. If the Unifying receiver is plugged into a USB hub, try plugging it directly into a USB port on your computer.
4. Check the orientation of the batteries inside the mouse. To check battery power, turn the mouse OFF and then ON. If the battery indicator light glows red or does not glow at all, replace the batteries.
5. Try using the mouse on a different surface. Remove metallic objects between the mouse and the Unifying receiver.
6. Try moving the Unifying receiver to a USB port closer to the mouse. If you are using a tower PC, go to www.logitech.com/usbextender for a USB extender.
7. Try reconnecting the mouse and Unifying receiver using the Logitech Unifying software (refer to the Unifying section of this guide).
Maybe check further into the Unifying software instructions, in link above.some details may help.
"The Logitech® Unifying receiver: Logitech product ships with a Logitech® Unifying receiver
www.logitech.com/unifying. Start the Unifying software* and follow the onscreen instructions
to pair the new wireless device with your existing Unifying receiver."

Usually even though I've had wireless mouse, at times as backup, prefer USB wired peripherals.
With portable Macs, wired USB keyboard can also be extremely helpful; plus a good USB mouse.
Wired-USB products can be helpful to work-around peripheral issues. ~ Your mouse? Defective?
[Batteries, may not be working; or if rechargable, unavailable. This unit has proprietary wireless.]
Troubleshooting this invites significant changes in plans, when proprietary wi-fi module may fail.
I had a USB wired Apple early 'magic mouse' w/ macbook; and one-button Apple wireless mouse.
Sorry to not be of much help. With non Apple mouse and its own wireless adapter, not sure how
to address issues where it may be at fault; short of using a different product. ~ And the usual re-sets
of NVRAM/PRAM; &/or SMC (system management controller) resets. These without wifi, may help.
Good luck & happy trails!🌤🎣
