Cannot connect sidecar ipad over usb, works fine wirelessly

I tried the solution here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250844981 but no luck. If I connect wirelessly it works, but I cannot use my ipad as a hotspot at the same time.

Sidecar not working wirelessly beween 2018 MB Pro and 2017 iPad Pro Hi all, hoping for some help here. So, I can get Sidecar working using a cabled connection between my 2018 MB Pro and 2017 iPad Pro but cannot get it working wirelessly so it can be charged whilst using it. I tried all the trouble shooting - reset network connections, sign out Apple ID, make sure Handoff enabled etc etc. Still nothing. I'm thinking Handoff has something to do with it because I can Handoff between my MB Pro and iPhone 11 but I cannot Handoff between my iPad Pro and iPhone or MB. Any ideas? I like the stability of having a wired connection but want the ability to charge my iPad at the same time as using Sidecar. Thanks Ben

iPad Pro 12.9 2021 Sidecar not working with 2018 Macbook air I've been trying to connect my iPad Pro with my Macbook air, but it hasn't been working. I've heard that the Sidecar works with 2018 and later Macbook airs. I've tried most solutions that were online and it's still not connecting.

Hello,

Try updating to iPadOS 13.6 to see if it resolves your problem.

Settings > General > Software Update

Try updating to macOS 10.15.6 to see if it resolves your problem.

System Preferences > Software Update
