How can I refresh the location tracking of my stolen device?

Can I get Find Me to re-ping my stolen device? It found it once, but isn’t updating the location with new location details

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

You need to have turned on Find My iPhone from this point on. See the steps in the first link below especially, but don't ignore the second.
