I mistakenly got locked out of my phone. it is now on disabled connect to iTunes. my iTunes is not even recognising the device although last year I did back it up. Now I want to back up the data in it to
iCloud or iTunes before I reset the phone. Can anyone please help??

If your phone is disabled, it is too late to save anything on it. You need to restore it. See here for help with that: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204306.
