iPad mini4 battery life

I just bought an iPad Mini 4 that was brand new- I charge it to 100%, then sometimes I leave it sleeping in the case for a few days- when I start it up again, as much as 20% of the battery is gone- is this normal? am I doing something wrong, or is my battery bad?

If the iPad is “sleeping” and otherwise idle, battery utilisation of around 10% per day is not uncommon - equating to a battery life from fully charged of about 10 days. If in use, depending upon CPU load and display brightness, you can expect the battery to deplete at 10-15% per hour.

If the iPad is totally shut-down, the battery will discharge at a much slower rate (effectively the self-discharge rate of the Li-ion battery).
