Mac Mini Green Screen

I bought my Mac mini about a year ago. Not even a week after I bought my Mac mini, the screen kept freezing and the computer was not working. I had to go back and get a new one. Now whenever I use my Mac mini, the screen goes green and when it’s not stuck on the green screen, it’s extremely slow. This computer is about 1 year old.

did Apple sell me two lemons ?

Turn the monitor off and back on.

Check your monitor connections and reseat the cables. Have you tried using a different monitor cable? Or even using a different video output from the Mini or a different video input on the monitor?

If you activate the monitor's menu does it display properly on the screen? Maybe you need to cycle through the monitor inputs.

Some monitors are just quite poor at working properly with some systems or just have odd quirks.

Try booting the Mini in Safe Mode to see if you still have a problem.

Try running the Apple Diagnostics.

How often does this occur? What do you normally do to get the display working again?

If your Mini is running slow lets check for a possible software issue so run EtreCheck and post the report here using the "Additional Text" icon which looks like a piece of paper.

HWTech,

thank you for your response.

i changed monitors at the begging several times, but with each monitor I would get the same green screen.

today I noticed that the green screen would

come up in the middle of working or when it goes to sleep when you walk away from the computer for a while.

I will try to run the diagnostics and will post an update soon.

the issue used to come up randomly at the beginning, now it’s more often, even in the middle of working.

not sure how the same issue would come up on two brand new Mac Mini.

To Be Continued...

thank you again for your advice
