MacBook Air 2020 / Thunderbolt 3 dock / Catalina 10.15.6 sound and usb (Logitech unifying receiver) issue
Hi,
- I have a 16" MacBook Pro (Catalina 10.15.6) that connects seamlessly to my two ALOGIC thunderbolt 3 docks (https://www.alogic.co/alogic-thunderbolt-3-dual-display-docking-station-w-4k-power-delivery-black.html and https://www.alogic.co/alogic-thunderbolt-3-0-turbo-docking-station-with-usb-c-compatibility-dual-display-4kat60hz.html?___store=default). My Logitech Unifying USB receivers plugged into both docks "just work" and the sound is good.
- My MacBook Air *did* work fine with one of the docks when I bought it a week ago. Now it doesn't work with either (I only got the second dock yesterday). When I plug the MacBook Air into the docking station, it cannot see the Unifying receiver until I reboot the MacBook Air, and after reboot it always puts the docking station sound output at 100% and full left balance.
- The MacBook Air is also crashing a lot (the tasteful Mac version of the Windows Blue Screen).
- I have not changed any MacBook Air settings or installed anything likely to cause this. I have installed some Apple updates though..
- I have reset NVAM and SMC, and diagnostics come back clean.
Does anyone have any ideas please?
Thanks a lot, T.
