How can I back up al of my photos from an old phone?

My old phone is broken to where I can’t see my screen. Is there any way I can backup all my old photos to my new phone?

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 12

Were the photos on the device itself or were they stored in iCloud Photos? If the device is broken, then you cannot use it to create a backup.

This means that you will lose any new photos that were added to the device since the last backup providing you storing the photos on the device alone (no iCloud). Any older photos would be okay.
