battery runs out very very quickly and is new

I have bought a Macbook pro of 16"" 3 days ago and the battery runs out very 💨, much more than normal. is this normal the first days of use? it takes

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 10.15

Sometimes new Macs needs an SMC reset before the battery behaves normally. One of the very experienced contributors here suggests that notebooks are shipped with the battery in a standby condition to protect the battery while in overseas transport. Some do not get reset to normal.
