The Apple TV “Apple TV” could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (3002).

I'm trying to restore some Apple TV that is stuck in airplay/conference mode. I get the following error message once connect to my Mac after the device is detected and restore prompts are followed. I'm not able to get past the error message.

The Apple TV “Apple TV” could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (3002).

Any ideas of what would cause this?
