In 'finder' when I click on a file, I like to see the info next to it, but since upgrading to Mojave, I can't see info and I need to hover over it and scroll down. This defeats the purpose of a 'quick view' because after clicking on a file to view, I have to move my mouse over to the right and hover over it to scroll down to see the info. How do I fix this? First image is the problem view. Second image is how I want to see it upon selecting an item.

Hello Dr. Fuzzy,

Thanks for that info and for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If we understand correctly, you want to be able to see info about files in Finder on your Mac. To help with this, see if the step below helps, or other Finder options from this Apple resource:

"Show info below icons: Open a folder in the Finder or click the desktop, choose View > Show View Options, then select “Show item info.” (Only available for Icon view.)

Item info can include file size, movie length, image dimensions, and more."

Cheers!

When you open the window expand it so all the info in the Preview pane is visible, now close the window.

When you open it again it will remember this new size and therefore you will not need to scroll down the

Preview pane to see all the info. Experiment with changing the size of the window and width of the Preview column. you will probably have to do this with all your folders as you open them.

You can also click on View in the menubar and select Show Preview Options, from the panel that pops up

select the info you would like displayed and you can select to show or not show the Quick Actions.

Thanks for replying, Dr. Fuzzy, and that additional info, it really helps! In the new screenshot, you are in the Dropbox folder, which may have different options. Please make sure you are in the external drive that is shown in the first screenshots when you try the "Show info below icons" steps suggested. Have a great day and thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!
