After updating to 10.15.6 - the Macbook Pro 16''behaves absolutely terribly. Freezing and spinning balls everywhere - browser, Photos, messages, FCP etc. etc. How could such a "update" be created at all ??

A system extension that old, and with a version number 0.0.1... bound to cause trouble.
You should uninstall "Turbo Boost Switcher Pro". It seems to do some low level things like turning turbo boost on or off, that you should rather trust the OS to deal with. It may be causing serious trouble by conflicting with how the OS manages the processor.

Your experience is not what most users have with 10.15.6. Something particular to your installation must be involved.

The applications keep opening extremely slow or not at all. Photos not working - cannot opening any photos, spinning balls and crashing. FCP can't be opened. When I restart computer , it works for a while and then again ...
I don' t think it was the cause but I erased everything and made a fresh installation ... Quite a bit of work (thank you Apple) but now all works ok. The only thing is that the fans are now much louder and faster than before whatever I try to reduce them. Hmm ...
