iCloud is showing full

I have been trying to backup my iphone but my iCloud storage is showing full. I have tried to delete old backups but it is still saying full. I signed into the online icloud and it is saying there is nothing in there. The only things I have checked to back up is 6 months of my Calendar, 360 contacts and 4 small notes. I send all of my pictures to google photos and I have cleaned out all emails and texts. I do not understand how my icloud can be full if i dont have anything syncing to it and I am super frustrated. I have never had this issue with any of the other 6 iphones I have had in the past.
