Yellow spot on screen

Hi everyone, yesterday appeared this weird yellow/orange spot on the screen of my macbook pro. Searching on the web seems like it's a common problem but Apple doesn't recognize it as a production problem. Does anyone know if there's something new about?

Perhaps this is a Faulty Device?:

So, how old is this MBP? If you have it covered under warranty, then I suggest you have this looked at. Perhaps a screen replacement is needed. Being that many Apple Stores are closes at the moment (because of the pandemic), Send-in Service is what would most likeley be performed. So, contact Apple Support, and see if they can look into this for you.

I. Using Send-In Service:

Do you have the original receipt? If so, contact Apple Support, and see if you can send this in.

  1. Apple: would send you a box
  2. You: would package it and send it to Apple
  3. Apple: would fix it or replace it, if applicable
  4. You: would receive it back from Apple

II. Contacting Apple Support:

A. Screenshare with the Apple Rep: Consider performing a screensharing session of your MacBook Pro. That will allow the Apple Rep to see this firsthand, from your perspective.

Go Here: Screenshare your iPhone with the Camera App Enabled to Easily Converse Over-the-Phone with Apple Support

B. Apple Phone Support Info:

C. Apple Chat Session Info:

Being that phone calls are taking a moment, perform a chat session with Apple Support.

Setting Up the Chat Session:

  1. Go to: support.apple.com
  2. Scroll Down to "Tell us how we can help"
  3. Select: Get Support
  4. Proceed from there as Necessary

D. Note: Phone Calls are Currently a Wait:

Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, phone calls are taking a lot longer than usual. So, take this up with Apple, despite how long it may take to get on the phone. With many out of work, and many home from school, phone calls will likely take a while to go through — so, just stay on the line. Ask the Apple Rep — they’ll see this and will run you through the fix. Chats are taking a bit longe

Hey CiprianT21,

After reviewing your post, it looks like you're having a yellow spot on the display of your MacBook Pro, and I'd like to provide you with some guidance on this. Are you experiencing this when you’re using a specific application, or feature? If so, which ones?

We can isolate this issue further by testing in safe mode, and under another user account to see if you still see the yellow spot there. Resetting NVRAM also, helps with display issues. Please try the steps in the links below:

In the meantime, if you believe your Mac qualifies for the 13-inch MacBook Pro Display Backlight Service Program, please contact us through the following link to explore available service options in your region: Get Support

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Have a nice day.
