USB-C WiFi adapter?

Long, story, but I am looking to use a wireless document camera with a laptop that also requires a wireless Internet connection to stream / use with video conferencing software. With one of the models I am looking at, this is only possible if the laptop also has a USB WiFi adapter plugged in. I'm not finding any UBC-C WiFi adapters and wondered if anyone knows of one / would recommend one for use with a newer model MacBook Pro. Alternatively, I can use USB WiFi adapter with a USB-C to USB-A adapter, but it always feels like less connections is more reliable and stable. Any recommendations most welcome. Thanks!

If the camera can only be accessed by making it a Wi-Fi access point and connecting the laptop to it, that’s too bad, and yes, in that case you’d need a second Wi-Fi adapter indeed. But this may not be the (only) way the camera operates. If the camera can be connected to an existing Wi-Fi access point that the laptop is also connected to, then they can communicate with each other. I’ll take a look at the manufacturer’s documentation if you can point me in its direction.

My understanding, from the manufacturer of the camera, is that just like a laptop can't be connected to two WiFi signals at one time, it can't be connected to the wireless document camera (one signal) and the room WiFi (a second signal) at the same time. This is apparently can be solved with a WiFi adapter. Sounds like the best bet is to use an ordinary USB WiFi adapter with a USB-C to USB-A adapter.

I don't see why another Wi-Fi network interface would be necessary when your laptop already has one. The document camera should be able to connect to the same network as the laptop, if it has Wi-Fi connectivity. Then they can communicate with each other. A USB connection might be necessary for the initial setup of the document camera, like telling it which Wi-Fi network to connect to.

Alternatively, I can use USB WiFi adapter with a USB-C to USB-A adapter, but it always feels like less connections is more reliable and stable.

This isn't the case with a simple USB-C to USB-A 3.0 adapter, I wouldn't worry about it. I see there are lots of $10 adapters like this on Amazon, they should work perfectly. I have a $2 one, never had an issue with it.
