Does USB ethernet adapter… Set Static IP?

I am thinking a USB-Ethernet adapter might solve my issue… but just want to check.

I have a remote CCTV camera with Ethernet and built in SD card record.

Where it is situated we can’t / not allowed Ethernet cable OR WiFi.

Camera is set with static IP

I can connect to it to download footage with a Windows computer, Win set to static IP also

But clients MacBook does not have Ethernet cable

They use / mentioned a USB - Ethernet adapter, but I have not had a chance to get hold of it or their Mac and see how it is configured.

So with explanation over with, to the three questions

1), Will it appear in Sys Prefs Network pane?u

2), Will I be able to set static IP as my Mac Pro built in adapters allow ?

3), Do these devices support crossover auto negotiation etc, or will I need to crimp up a X-Over cable ?

Thanks

Where I work those little USB-ethernet adapters are everywhere; the Dells and MACs we support don't have ethernet... We have a variety of brands and they all work about the same; just get one with the same USB type (A or C) and you should be GTG. Apple Menu>System Settings>Network. I personally own 3 of them and they all work fine on my Lenovo and MAC M2 Air. As for crossover, this I have never tried on a USB Ethernet...
