Ringtone

I've created a ringtone from my music and emailed it to myself hoping it would load to my ringtones once I opened it on my iPhone. It does not show up in ringtones despite the fact it downloaded. Could it be somewhere else on the phone?

I did change the file to m4rt as stipulated. I also tried to add it direct to the phone by connecting the phone to the Mac.

The same issue it never appeared in the phones ringtones?
