Apple ID password request outside of appstore - trying to buy LiquidText

Hi all, I have downloaded LiquidText (macbook pro) from AppStore. Great App!

No way to purchase it directly from AppStore.

Launching upgrade from within LiquidText a window asks for the AppleID password.

It doesn't look very usual at all! I do not like this way of managing APPLE credsentials.

How can I be assured that it is not stored by the third party application?

That’s because the upgrade is is an in-app purchase through the MacOS App Store. In App purchases on any Apple device require you to sign into the App Store with your AppleID as the payment is processed through Apple and the App Store.

And it is available for iPadOS in the iPadOS App Store -> ‎LiquidText on the App Store (there does not appear to be an iPhone versions, just iPad and Mac versions).

The iOS or iPadOS App Stores are the only supported place to get and install apps for iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch devices.

Hi Michael, thank you for your reply!

Actually I am not interested in the mobile versions but only to the desktop version.

Hence I do not understand if the credentials request is managed (and potentially exposed to risks) directly by LiquidText or by AppStore on which I am constantly logged-in.

Honestly it doesn't appear to be a AppStore request and it looks under threat!
