I need to use Chrome for running a webpage from work, lately I got pop up messages coming from a Malware (named Streamit) that was affecting all my browsing.
I removed Chrome and few other apps lately installed.
Can you advice about a reliable software or antivirus that I can install on my Mac to see if the malware is gone?

I recommend that you use Malwarebytes for Mac you can use it for free manually, or pay to have it automatically scan. The difference again between the free and paid versions are manual and automatic scans.
